Over the past 35 years she has built a practice that spans fine art, graphic and brand design, interior concept development, photography, animation, augmented reality, and AI-integrated design. Not as separate chapters — as a single, continuous way of seeing. Her work is rooted in a simple conviction: the most powerful things are made by hand and sharpened by intelligence. The analog layer gives warmth, presence, and authenticity. The digital layer reveals what was always there but invisible. Together they create work that feels both timeless and unmistakably now. The Naive Faces Her current body of work — the Naive Faces series — draws on her earliest portraits, drawings made before technique had opinions about them. Remastered with three decades of craft and experience, these large-scale faces on wood carry the directness of a child's eye and the depth of a mature artist's hand. Solid and transparent inks sink into fine poplar wood panels, merging with the natural grain to create surfaces that no canvas can replicate. Each work is unique. Each work is signed. Each work is edition 1/1. The Naive Faces have been shown at Studio Des Bouvrie / Het Arsenaal in Naarden, and at selected design fairs across the Netherlands. They live in private collections and design-driven interiors where art is not decoration — it is a decision. The Atelier Hanneke works from her studio and atelier on the Klarendalseweg in Arnhem's Modekwartier — the city's Fashion District.
